Message from the President / Overview of the organization

Chairman’s Greetings

My name is Hisashi Hirasawa and I am the chairman of the General Incorporated Association All Japan Nishikigoi Promotion Association.
Our promotion association was established in January 1970 as the All Japan Nishikigoi Promotion Association, and was incorporated as a general incorporated association in May 2020.
Members are composed of koi producers, distributors, and operators of koi-related products. There are 299 domestic members in Japan and 223 overseas members, for a total of 522 members. (As of the end of December 2023)
Nishikigoi, now also known as the “national fish Nishikigoi”, has become one of Japan’s leading export products and is included in the list of key export items.
The association holds three world-class show every year: the All Japan Nishikigoi Show, the All Japan Young Koi Show, and the International Junior Koi Show.
We hope to convey the charm of Nishikigoi, known as “swimming gemstone” and “symbol of peace” to the world through the Nishikigoi Show, and also hope to promote international economic and cultural exchanges through Nishikigoi.
At the same time, we will put even more effort into promoting domestic demand and strive to popularize the “Swimming Jewel National Fish Nishikigoi.’
